THE DIVERGENT PATENT PRACTICE

Privacy, Data Use & Accessibility

Information about inquiries, website operation, personal information, privacy requests, and accessibility for the Europe-focused Divergent Patent Law website.

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Divergent Patent Law is the patent practice of AddyHart LLC. This notice describes personal-information handling and accessibility for this Europe-focused website.

Scope of this notice

This notice covers the pages, article archive, inquiry forms, and other content available on this website. It does not replace the terms of any legal engagement. Information handled in connection with an attorney-client relationship may also be governed by the engagement agreement, applicable professional obligations, and client-specific requirements.

Third-party websites and services reached through links or media controls have their own privacy and accessibility practices.

Information you choose to provide

When you submit an inquiry, the website sends your name, firm or company, reply email, role, topic, relevant date if provided, nonconfidential overview, and acknowledgement to AddyHart through the Resend email-delivery service. The website displays a reference number only after the email service accepts the message for delivery. Acceptance by the email service does not prove that a person has read the message or that the firm has accepted a matter or deadline.

The website does not store the inquiry body in its database. It temporarily stores keyed hashes and counters for rate limiting, and uses a signed form session and a reference identifier to help prevent abuse and duplicate delivery. Your browser keeps the entered text in the current page until you clear it, reset the form, or leave. The “Copy inquiry” option can copy it to your clipboard.

If you send an email or otherwise contact AddyHart, the firm may receive your name, business or organization, email address, contact details, inquiry, accessibility request, or information supplied during an RFP or vendor-onboarding process. The firm may use that information to respond, route the inquiry, consider a potential engagement, and maintain appropriate business or compliance records.

Please do not send confidential, proprietary, sensitive, or invention-specific information through an initial inquiry or general email address. Contacting AddyHart does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.

Website operation and request information

Opening a page or requesting a file involves the website’s hosting and delivery services. Those services may process request and technical information, such as an Internet Protocol address, browser or device information, the requested page or file, access time, and security or performance events, to deliver, operate, and protect the website.

The authored website code does not add analytics or advertising trackers. The article search, filters, and pagination run in your browser. Search and filter selections may appear in the page address when you use or share a filtered view.

Cookies, browser storage, and media

The authored website code does not set cookies or use persistent browser storage to retain inquiry fields or visitor preferences. Form-session tokens and entered fields are held in the current page. Hosting and email-delivery providers may process technical and security information needed to operate and protect their services.

Audio editions and other external resources are available through links. Some recording pages may also provide audio controls. A third-party media player may contact its provider when loaded or played, and following an external link takes you to that service’s own environment. Its privacy practices then apply. Native audio controls on this site are configured not to preload the recordings.

Email publications

This website does not submit a mailing-list signup form. If you separately subscribe to AddyHart publications, that subscription and its preferences are managed through the service used for those communications. Existing publication subscribers can use the unsubscribe link or preference controls in the relevant email.

Use and disclosure of information

AddyHart may use information received from website inquiries to respond to requests, support an RFP or preliminary conflicts review, administer a potential or existing relationship, improve accessibility, maintain business records, satisfy legal and professional obligations, and establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

Information may be handled by attorneys and personnel who require it for an authorized purpose, service providers supporting hosting, security, email, or related functions, and professional advisers. It may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, systems, or property, subject to applicable obligations. Resend processes form content to deliver inquiry emails; its privacy practices also apply. Resend privacy policy

AddyHart does not disclose information received in an attorney-client relationship except as authorized or otherwise permitted or required by applicable law and professional obligations. General website activity is not used to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning visitors.

International visitors and processing

AddyHart operates from the United States. Information supplied by visitors outside the United States may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other jurisdictions in which relevant service providers operate. Applicable privacy rules may require additional protections for international transfers.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions may have rights concerning their personal information. The applicable legal basis and requirements depend on the processing involved, including a requested response, steps toward an engagement, legal or professional obligations, consent where relevant, or legitimate interests in administering and securing the practice and its services.

Retention and security

Information received by AddyHart is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose, including responding to an inquiry, maintaining required business records, meeting legal or professional obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. The appropriate period depends on the nature of the information and the applicable requirements.

AddyHart uses administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect information. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Do not use general website forms or email addresses to transmit sensitive personal information, confidential legal information, or unpublished invention disclosures.

Accessibility

AddyHart is committed to making this website accessible to the broadest possible audience and to improving its usability and accessibility. If you experience difficulty accessing content or functionality, or need information in an alternative format, please contact the firm. Reasonable efforts will be made to address accessibility barriers and provide appropriate assistance promptly.

Privacy rights and requests

Depending on your jurisdiction and the information involved, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing. Requests may be submitted using the contact information below. Additional information may be requested to verify your identity before a response.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated as the website, service providers, legal requirements, or practices change. The date above identifies the most recent revision.
